Welcome to Linda Kate Lobster! We are a family-owned and operated seafood harvester and wholesaler located in Portland, Maine.

Since 2009, Linda Kate Lobster has supplied restaurants, caterers and home kitchens with lobster harvested just days before. The lobsters make one stop en route to you. As the crow flies, our state-of-the-art facility is only 3½ miles from our boats. There we super-chill the lobsters so they’re fresh and firm when they arrive. As both harvester and supplier, we deliver the highest quality product in the least amount of time.

Harvesting

We have years of experience finding, catching, and keeping Maine’s best lobster.

Linda Kate Lobster is owned and operated by the Nappi family. Father and son Nick and Brent Nappi, along with Brent’s fiancée Colleen, have more than 60 years of lobstering experience among them. (Great Uncle Marty was a harbormaster in Yarmouth and hauled traps for most of his 80 years.) The company catches lobster year round. From June to October they moor the boats off the coast of Falmouth, Maine. In the colder months they harvest offshore. A new, state-of-the-art facility and expert packaging keeps the lobster as fresh as it would be at the bottom of the sea.

Chef Sam Bergeron leads our retail store and catering division. A graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu culinary program, he has spent the last ten years honing his skills at restaurants in the greater Portland area, working closely with some of our city’s finest chefs. This unique partnership of harvester and chef provides the highest quality live lobster, crab, and shellfish through out retail location and full-service catering company. Facility

Our facility combines traditional Maine know-how with ultra-modern technology.

Three-and-a-half miles from our lobster boats in the ocean is our state-of-the-art facility on Ocean Avenue in Portland, Maine. The main features of the 10,000 square-foot facility are the four super-chilled shipping tanks. We keep our tanks colder than any other shippers in the business, which ensures firm, fresh product, while lowering shrinkage. The super-chilled tanks can store up to 12,000 pounds of lobster— but it doesn’t stay there for long. Because we both harvest and supply the lobster, our “flip rate” is just one-third of the average turnover of a larger wholesaler. And since we started shipping our product in 2009, we’ve worked extremely closely with our restaurant partners to package our lobsters in the best way to maintain their premium quality.

Wholesale Seafood

Our restaurant partners run the gamut from 100% locally sourced boutique eateries, to large, acclaimed tourist destinations.

Because we super-chill and expertly package our product, every restaurant can offer their guests premium quality lobster— even without a tank. Even after a few days in the walk-in cooler, Linda Kate Lobster remains fresh and lively. We will work with you to deliver the freshest product when you need it.
